Common Mistakes in Applying Radico Organic Hair Color

Common Mistakes in Applying Radico Organic Hair Color

Have you used Radico Organic Hair Color for the first time, and it's not taking effect? In this blog, let us share the common mistakes in applying Radico Organic Hair Color. 🙂

1. Not waiting for the oxidation period to finish.

There is an oxidation period of 3-5 days. Oxidation is when the hair color darkens even more as the days go by, like an apple when it is cut.

To see the difference, refer to the chart below:

Radico Organic Hair Color is made up of organic herbs only. Also, the coloration process is different—the herbs mixture only coats the hair and does NOT penetrate the hair strands at all, making sure that they are intact!

During the oxidation period, make sure you do not use shampoo. If it is to be used, use only organic or natural, because they're gentler on the hair and won't strip away the herbs easily.

Optional: you can also reapply after 24 hours if you do not want to wait for oxidation.

Please be patient in waiting for the results. Since we've gone through years using chemically-laden hair products and treatments, there is a lot of residue and buildup on our hair. It will really take a while for your hair to transition to organic hair care.

But it can be done!

2. Using hair products with oils or silicones before you applying Radico Organic Hair Color.

The oils will make your hair slippery, so the herbs mixture won't easily coat and cover it. Simply cleanse your hair with shampoo, rinse it, and then damp dry the hair.

3. You applied the herbs mixture on hair that's soaking wet.

Make sure that you damp dry your hair with a towel after shampooing. If it's still soaking wet or dripping with water, the herbs mixture won't stick easily to your hair.

4. Not following the instructions exactly.

Maybe you've applied the herbs mixture when it has cooled off completely! This won't take effect at all. The coloring properties of the herbs are activated when they're warm.

Here are the complete instructions:

5. You have naturally dark hair, and you chose a lighter shade.

You could have naturally dark hair—yes, like jet-black hair that can be likened to a starless sky—and you chose something lighter like Darkest Ash Blonde or Copper Brown.

It may take several applications to achieve this; this is why if your goal is to cover gray hair, we suggest that you go for the shade that's closest to your natural hair color.

Moreover, please note that Radico Organic Hair Color does NOT contain bleach too, so it cannot lighten the hair.

6. Some people's hair is resistant to hair color.

That's why we have released the Radico Colour Foundation Treatment to help those who have resistant gray/white hair, so the usual 3-5 applications of using Radico Organic Hair Color alone is shortened to just 2 steps!

The Colour Foundation Treatment will help balance the colors, so this is what you need to apply first before Radico Organic Hair Color. It's different from Radico Organic Henna Powder, which is what a lot of people use already as the base. Henna Powder is just pure henna, while the Foundation Treatment is a powerful combination of henna, amla, ritha, shikakai, and bhringraj, and it has cleansing and nourishing properties as well.

Using it is the same as the procedure for Radico Organic Hair Color. Mix the amount of powder that you need with hot water, apply it onto your hair, put on a shower cap, leave it on for one hour, and then rinse with water. Continue the process with the hair color!

And those are just some of the common mistakes! Lastly, keep in mind that the longer you use Radico Organic Hair Color, the longer the color retention. It also helps lessen premature graying!
